The lawnmower races will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 during the Baxter County Fair.
Our 2018 Lawnmower races were great fun. The local stock races had a field of 8 competitors. 1st place was Curt Cotter, $300 prize plus a trophy. Travis Denton and Jason Hensley were 2nd and 3rd respectively, earning cash prizes of $260 and $180.
It's great family fun with an admission price of $2.00 per adult and $1.00 per child (5 and under are free). (Ticket proceeds belong to the Baxter County Fair Board.)
Gregg Farm Services sponsors the Arkansas Lawnmower Racing Association from Jonesboro to come out and race their seriously modified lawnmowers. We also organized local stock races for folks that are willing to do a little tinkering to their mower and race among friends. 2019 will be the 5th year of racing. Photos from previous years are below.
Our 2019 Entry Fee is $20 per racer.
Payouts are awarded to first thru third place in the Local Stock Feature Race. Purse = 100% of entry fees plus $300 contributed by Doug Gregg.
Dependent on the field on the night of the race; organizers reserve the right to separate local racers into more than one class, which can alter the way the purse is divided. All participants will be required to sign a waiver of responsibility. There is no insurance coverage for this event. No alcohol allowed at this venue, in the parking lot, pit or stands. Any signs of inebriation will disqualify a driver and his crew. Race officials are provided by NALMRA. Employees of Gregg Farm Services or any other sponsors may compete in this event with no bias.
Lawnmower Racing Rules
Safety is the number one priority in this event.
New in 2018 were exhibition tiller races. Gregg Farm employees competed for fun. Ricky Pepper of Emerson, AR supplied a few tillers; our own Robbie Green built one, too. Mr. Pepper has built several tillers to win the World Championship Tiller Racing at the Purple Hull Pea Festival held annually in south Arkansas in June.
